Brigham Young University's Ballroom Dance company has dazzled Beijing with their latest showcase "Capture the Magic". Champions of the prestigious Blackpool Dance Festival, the team has astounded audiences worldwide with their precision, beauty and skill.

During last year's Meet in Beijing arts festival, the Tsinghua university embraced Brigham Young University's Young Ambassadors and their energetic musical. Now at this very same place, another star of the BYU, the Ballroom Dance Company is ready to kick off its world champion showcase "Capture the Magic".
Championship formation, breath-taking lifts and spins, no one does it better than the Ballroom Dance Company.
The troupe has been touring and performing in China since the 1980s, but for most audiences here, the troupe's most recognizable moment came ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

"That was our last time here, it was in 2008 and it was very special for us to be invited to the Cultural Olympiad which was preceding the Olympics. It was one of those times when the rain came down and right when we were ready to perform it stopped. We had a very magical time," said Linda Wakefield, artistic director of Ballroom Dance Company, BYU.
Their latest showcase "Capture the Magic" treats audiences to a variety of dances, including gliding waltzes, playful swing dances, and some Elvis-like moves.
The dancers engage the audience by flowing between elegant forms and fast-paced rhythms, accompanied by colorful costumes and dramatic choreography.

"Choreography is hard sometimes hard and changing costumes fast is sometimes hard, but it's just a lot of fun mostly. So I'm glad I took a dance class and like it and now I'm China or I would never had that opportunity," said Charlie Roberts, dancer of
Ballroom Dance Company, BYU.
"I first came to China when I was in high school and I was able to dance and travel. But this is my first time with the BYU," said Devri Lambright, dancer of Ballroom Dance Company, BYU.
And their passion for dance is certainly making an impression here.
"I'm a dancer and the way they move it's just amazing," said an audience.
The troupe will continue touring in various locations, including Jinan, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. So make sure to plan ahead to capture the magic.
